Luck o' the Irish

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!  Our little leprechaun was feeling sprightly today, and he even played a few tricks on us.  When the rain finally slowed down enough for us to go out for a run, Levi was pretty excited.  In fact, he ran out the garage door, and before I could catch up with him, he was standing in the middle of a gigantic, four-inch-deep puddle in our driveway!
Here he is playing with Grandpa Garrett, gazing out at the snow and hail, and napping in his usual style with his hands behind his head.

Thirteen Months Old

Levi turned thirteen months old yesterday.  I hadn't planned on posting anymore monthly milestone photos, but I like this one.  When he was sitting on the rocking chair, he reached over, grabbed this truck book, and started "reading" it aloud.  He has been pretty happy lately, and we love playing and laughing together.  His most recent accomplishment is being able to sit himself up.  He has done it a few times during the past couple of weeks, but today he must have sat up at least five times.  What a funny guy!  He hits his developmental steps in backwards order.  First he learned how to walk, then he learned how to cruise along furniture, and now he can sit up.  What's next?  Rolling over?  No, hopefully he will figure out how to crawl soon!

Not much happening

We've had a fairly slow week.  The weather has been good enough that we could go outside in the afternoons.  Levi still really enjoys putting rocks in his mouth, but, thankfully, he has found some other things to do outdoors as well.
One of his quirky little habits is how he walks with his hands clasped behind his back.  It was hard to snap a photo of him doing it becasue he usually walks, smiling, toward the camera.

Oliver's favorite cat toy is a stick with a long, fuzzy, furry tail with feathers on the end.  He couldn't care less about any of the rest of his toys, but he runs right over if anyone even goes near this one.  Well, Levi picked up on that, and now he loves dragging Oliver's toy all around the house.  Oliver follows Levi everywhere, and Levi thinks it's super fun!
