Brothers at Play

We took our time getting dressed this morning.  Levi loves watching Micah get his diaper changed.  In this photo, Levi is screaming at the top of his lungs, but I like the shape of his vowel.
Then I thought Levi would like to play with his new fireman costume. . . . maybe not!  Fortunately, he's got a few weeks until Halloween so he can warm up to the idea of wearing it.
Check out those front teeth!  Micah has five teeth, and a sixth is just waiting to cut through the gums.
After naptime we went for a walk.  Levi wanted to run with the jogging stroller (like Mommy), and I allowed him to push Micah (with close supervision).  Levi decided that we should go to the neighborhood playground.  There's not much to do there, but he had a great time on the tire swing.
By the way, this is Micah's second day in a row of having a nap over an hour long!  Levi didn't take one, but I'm hopeful that tomorrow will be one of the four times per month when he actually sleeps during his 90-minute "quiet time" in his room.  Oh, but Micah's nap overlapped entirely with Levi's quiet time!  It was awesome to have all that time to myself!

Micah is so good at standing!  He stood like this for several minutes without so much as a wobble.

Eight Months Old

Smiley Micah is eight months old today!  Last week he got his upper right front tooth, and yesterday the upper left tooth cut through.  He's still not crawling, but he is getting better at pulling up to standing and even cruising (walking along the furniture) a little bit.  Micah still adores his older brother.  He likes music and dancing, and he is very vocal.  Just this evening, we had to leave the sanctuary at church because he was singing away during our prayer time.  At least they were happy sounds and not crying!  One of my favorite things he has been doing lately is feeding himself careal puffs.  He is so intent on "catching" them and stuffing them in his mouth as quickly as possible, as if they will escape if he doesn't attack them.  So funny!

Okay, maybe Micah isn't always smiling.  Levi was trying to cheer him up,
but it didn't quite work.  I was trying to get a cute picture of the two of them
with their Kentucky (EKU) shirts, but that didn't quite work either.

Washington State Fair

Here we are again!  For the third year in a row, the only picture I managed to take while we were at the fair was by the chickens.  It was pouring rain the entire time we were there, but we had a pretty good time.  Micah was happy for the first hour and sleeping for the second hour.  Levi was perfectly content to sit in the stroller the whole time.  In fact, he didn't want to get out of it to go on any rides.  Knowing that Levi is a cautious kid, I've been talking about the rides, especially the carousel, for a couple of weeks.  He seemed excited about riding the carousel; however, when we got there, he cried and refused to get out of the stroller on three separate attempts.  Of course, when we left the fair, he cried for a solid twenty minutes because he didn't get to go on the carousel.  (I couldn't win with this guy today!)  On the bright side, I got tons of comments from strangers about how great our double stroller and weather cover were.  I have to admit, we had a pretty sweet set-up.  Somebody's taken these boys out in the rain before!  (Like five days a week, twelve months a year!)
